Kimberley’s Mission to create awareness

Raising awareness of Fragile X Syndrome

One of Cessnock Linen Service employee’s, Kimberley Pyne, recently presented to a large group of Occupational Therapy students and staff from the University of Newcastle about Fragile X Syndrome.

With the assistance of EGA’s Professional Development Specialist, Maryanne Roland, Kimberley spoke about her passion to create awareness and understanding of Fragile X Syndrome and the daily impacts it has on those people with it including how to manage sensory processing issues and anxiety.

This year Kimberley has actively encouraged increased awareness of this Syndrome within the Cessnock centre and is now working towards taking her presentation into other centres across the region to continue spreading the word.

Congratulations to Kimberley on her outstanding efforts!
